Here are a few tips to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

FAQs

After consultation with health professionals and state and local government advisors the Manning Entertainment Centre will reopen for events at a reduced capacity of 202 seats.  In future, events will take place under new COVID Safe guidelines.  You will be able to enjoy live performance with the peace of mind that we are doing everything possible to keep you safe and healthy.

How will I be able to buy tickets?

To ensure socially distanced seating, online ticket purchasing will be available for single tickets, or 2 tickets at a time.  If you wish to purchase for a group of 3 or more, please contact our Box Office on 6592 5466.  We encourage patrons to present their email tickets on their phone, or familiarise themselves with and say their seat numbers when displaying hard copy tickets to ushers, so that there is no need for ushers to handle the tickets.

Can I still choose my seat?

Yes, but things will be a little different for the time being.  In order to offer our patrons the safest and most enjoyable experience possible, physical distancing will be applied to our seating plan. We may check that your contact details are up to date in the event we need to get in touch later in regard to contact tracing, and we advise that you will need to know contact details for each person in your booking for the same reason.

How will you be keeping audiences safe?

The health and safety of our audience, staff and performing artists is our focus and as a certified COVID Safe venue, we have a comprehensive operational plan in place to keep you safe.  You can find more details about our COVID Safe Plan by clicking here.

What will be different when I next come to the theatre?

There will be some changes when you come into the theatre, but our aim is to provide the same warm and social experience that we know you enjoy.  There will be new signage and announcements to guide you, and you will notice new features like sanitiser stations, perspex shields at serving points and queuing indicator stickers on the floor.  Our friendly staff will be there to advise and assist you at every event.

Are you taking contact details for everybody attending?

All events will be ticketed. Patron contact details will be collected at time of purchase for contact tracing purposes. As always, all information is held in accordance with relevant privacy law requirements.

If you are booking tickets for a group, please ensure you make a note of who you attend the performance with and confirm you have means to contact them if asked.

I have tickets booked and I am feeling unwell, can I get a refund?

If you have experienced cold or flu like symptoms in last 14 days, have a temperature and/ or been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or have visited an infected area, it is our right to refuse you entry into our venue. In this case, we recommend that you contact a doctor, and get tested for COVID-19.  Because of these extraordinary circumstances, our ticketing exchange and refund policy has been temporarily updated to allow consideration for refunds or exchanges in the event of your cancellation, PROVIDED YOU CONTACT US PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

 



At the Show

The front doors are opened one hour before each performance.  From that time, drinks and snacks are available from Ovations and tickets are available for purchase or collection from the Box Office

Doors to the auditorium used to open 30 minutes before each performance, but in the interest of minimising numbers in the foyer, the auditorium will now be open when the front doors open and you will permitted to take your seats anytime after arriving.  It is best not to leave it until the last minute before heading to your seat as performances will start on time and latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance.

You are encouraged to install and open the COVIDSafe app on your phone, and switch your phone to Airplane mode whilst in the MEC.  The use of cameras, mobile phone cameras and other recording/ electronic/ digital devices is strictly prohibited in the venue's auditorium unless otherwise specified by the performers and staff.



Accessibility

A hearing loop is available to all seats.  If you have a hearing aid with a T switch, turn it to this setting for the best audio experience.

We can accommodate guests with limited mobility (eg: wheelchair/ walker users) in the front row.  Please let our team know when you make your booking if you need access to one of these seats.  It will be easier for us to help you if you make your booking early.



Food & Drink

Ovations serves soft drinks, beer, wine, champagne, hot drinks and snacks from an hour before each performance.  We request that where possible the purchases be cashless using our eftpos facilities to tap and go.
