Please note that this a workshop, not a performance, and it is not open to observers.

Taree Arts Council, in conjunction with the Manning Entertainment Centre, is delighted to present the well known actor, singer, producer, teacher, and stage and fllm director Peter Cousens, conducting a two-day musical theatre workshop in Taree.

Mr. Cousens has played lead roles in "Les Misérables ", "Miss Saigon " and many other shows and he has a wealth of experience in all aspects of the performing arts including film, musical theatre, drama, direction, and talent development.

The workshop is open to adults and older teenagers (17 years and over - you may be asked for proof of age) and will be held at the Manning Entertainment Centre on Saturday February 10th from 1pm to 5pm (PLEASE ARRIVE AT 12:30 PM FOR REGISTRATION) and Sunday February 11th from 9am to 3pm.

Please be familiar with these 2 songs from Les Miserables:  “At The End of the Day” and “The People’s Song” (Do You Hear The People Sing).  Peter has indicated that he is keen to hear individual choices of a musical theatre song from any participants who would like feedback.  Please provide your own backing (CD or thumb drive).

Participants can expect to learn and develop performance skills in voice, singing, characterisation, analysing a song, working with a team, and interpreting a song.

This is a superb and rare opportunity to learn from one of Australia's best known and respected performers, and numbers are strictly limited.  It is particularly valuable for anyone thinking of auditioning for the upcoming Taree Arts Council production of "Les Misérables " and future productions.
